In 2006, DCS chaplains provided skilled spiritual care to the New York Metropolitan communities by engaging in more than 1,852 contacts with individuals during crisis and disaster.

In March 2007, Disaster Chaplaincy Services and the American Red Cross in Greater New York entered into an official Statement of Understanding (SOU) to continue working relationships in preparing for and responding to disaster relief situations at all levels.
